The
Urabicazion "La Tejita" is a small village situated
in the south-east side of Tenerife in the town on Granadilla
de Abona. This is 7 km from the south airport "Reina
Sofía" (Queen Sofía), 60
km from the capital of the island, Santa Cruz,
20 km from "Playa de Las Américas"
and 100 km from the north airport "Los
Rodeos". Although you can find Tenerife´s
biggest sand-beach right in front of the house no mass-tourism
is poluting this area.

Near
to La Tejita you will find the cave "Santo
Hermano Pedro" (Saint Brother Peter),
Holy santified in Guatemala, South America. There are
religious gatherings here at the week-ends. There is

The
"Montaña Roja" (the
red mountain) is the pride of La Tejita. It is "Reserva
Natural Especial" (Special Natural Reserve)
and also "Área de Importancia Internacional"
(International Important Area). The mountain is a view
which is in complete contrast with the surrounding countryside.
It is approximately 50 minutes easy walk from Holidayhouse
and will not cause problems for older persons.

La
Tejita is below humidity level therefore having complete
fresh air which you can enjoy on all the natural beaches
which this village has to offer. The sand is exquisite
and the water a luxury. At the far end of La Tejita
Beach you can find "La Playa de la Tejita".
It is an authentic, nudist beach, which is very rarely
visited by tourists, where you can relax and sunbath
in privacy. |

you miss the touristic Highlife you´ll find just
around the corner only 15 K away. You´ll reach
"Los Cristianos" und "Las Americas" in
15 min. by car. Uncountable Discos, Bars, Restaurants and
Casinos will amuse you through the whole night ... And
after all that action - You´ll sleep in in the
quietness of La Tejita instead of the action noise of
masstourism. |
Nearby
La Tejita you also can find guided Horse- or Mountainbiketrips,
Scuba-Schools (Look at Pictures
or Links & Tips). Moreover
you´ll find two perfect located 18-holes Golfcourts
in the next village (in total there are 6 Golfcourts
on tenerife). only 5 K away you´ll find the Golfcourts
"Golf
del Sur" & Amarilla Golf"
with everything a Golffan can dream of. |

Approximately 8 km from the
centre of El Médano you may wish to visit the
I.T.E.R. - Instituto Tecnológico de Energías
Renovables (Renewable Energies Technological
Institute). You can observe the conversion of natural
energy, sun, wind and sea - electricity, heat and cold.
The resources that are used here to reduce contamination
in the atmosphere. These works have been honourably
noticed henced being award the title of I.T.E.R. in
the centre of excellence, a definate must to visit. |

Weltruhm
erreicht El Médano aber durch
seine Surferszene. Regelmäßige Wettkämpfe
und optimale Bedingungen sorgen tagsüber für
zirkusartige Darbietungen in Blickweite; abends für
eine entspannte, sportliche Atmosphäre. So trainiert
z.B. der derzeit Weltbeste Kitesurfer Mark Shinn in
El Médano/El Cabezo. Luftflüge
von bis zu 10 Sekunden mit mehreren Salti sind nicht
nur bei ihm im Minutenrhytmus zu bewundern. |

As well
as the ideallic beaches and private zones, El Médano
(next beach to La Tejita only a few foodsteps away)
is famous worldwide for windsurfing and kitesuring.
This is due to the favourable conditions of the water
and the winds. Even competitions as worldcups are
held there.

Strand von El Cabezo liegt im Norden von El
Médano und ist vom Haus ca. drei Kilometer
entfernt. Der sogenannte "Bunker-Beach"
von El Cabezo ist dadurch bekannt, dass hier
bis ´96 der Windsurf Worldcup ausgetragen wurde.
Dieser Spot eignet sich hervorragend um in Wellen zu
surfen. |

Im beiden
El Médano & dem nahegelegenen
Los Abrigos gibt es viele Restaurants
in denen man excellent frischesten Fisch und
Fleisch im typischen kanarischen
Stil essen kann. Die zahlreichen Restaurants
bieten aber auch eine abwechslungsreiche internationale
Küche. Am Abend kann man die Terrassen
und Pubs am Meer aufsuchen und die Nacht mit Freunden
vor einer Sangria oder einem guten kanarischen Wein
verbringen.

Einkäufe findet man in El Médano
und Los Abrigos einige kleine Läden
mit Artikeln aller Art, regelmäßigen Märkten
und Geschenkartikelläden.
Auf der Plazas - den Marktplätzen
finden regelmäßig spanische Veranstaltungen
mit Musik, Theater
oder Kino statt. Frischer Fisch
kann direkt am Hafen bei den Fischern gekauft werden.
